Precision-Crafted Tiles (Forge Works)

Forge Works (forgework.shop) offers precision-engineered replacement tiles for the Framework Desktop front panel1. Each tile is manufactured from high-grade PETG (or other premium materials) with tight tolerances matching Framework's open-source tile specifications2.

Overview​

The Framework Desktop front panel accommodates 21 tiles in a grid layout1. Forge Works provides both pre-designed tiles and a custom tile builder where users upload their own artwork2. Tiles are sold individually or in packs.

Notable Tile Designs​

Independent validation by the DockFrame project (hwlab.io) confirmed Forge Works' dimensional control — tiles dropped into a third-party clip-on frame on the first try with no rework, and tile-to-pocket clearance was tight and consistent across designs3. Designs highlighted in that review include:

  • Gyroid Vent — a 3×3 tile with an interior gyroid lattice, intended as functional heatsink geometry placed over hot Tool Cards3
  • Hilbert's Tile — Hilbert-curve fractal pressed into the tile face3
  • Floppy Tile and Faux Floppy Slot — retro 3.5" floppy-disk throwback designs3
  • Omarchy / Hyprland / Nobara / LM Studio / VLC Cone — Linux distro and software "pride" tiles. Forge Works donates the VLC Cone proceeds to VideoLAN3
