Drumpad Input Module

The Drumpad Input Module is a custom input module for the Framework Laptop 16 created by community member Pitstoptech. It replaces an input module slot with velocity-sensitive drum pads, turning the Framework 16 into a portable music production tool¹².

Design

Following the same concept as the Piano Keyboard Input Module, this module uses velocity-sensitive pads that function as a USB MIDI device, allowing beat-making and drum programming directly from the laptop's input deck¹².

Development

As of August 2025, the creator stated the drumpad module is finished, and that both it and the Piano Keyboard module output MIDI with velocity and aftertouch. The keyboard module is planned to be revised to use the same sensing technology, with an update promised. No release date or commercial availability has been announced³.
